Your work is yours

Canvas does not claim ownership of artwork or recordings you create with the tool. To the extent your work is protected by copyright or other intellectual-property rights, you retain those rights.

Your work stays local

Canvas is designed as a local drawing tool. Your artwork and Canvas recording data stay in your browser or on your device unless you choose to download or share them. Canvas does not upload the contents of your artwork or recordings to an account or gallery.

Optional analytics

Canvas uses Google Analytics only if you choose Accept analytics. Before you consent, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded and Canvas does not send analytics data to Google.

If you accept, Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as browser and device information, pages viewed, general usage activity, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Canvas also sends limited feature-usage events, such as when a drawing is started, an effect or brush size is selected, or an image, GIF, or recording is downloaded. These events do not include your artwork or the contents of your recording.

You can change your choice at any time. Choosing “No thanks” disables Analytics and Canvas attempts to remove Google Analytics cookies set for this site.

Google provides more information about how it uses information from sites that use its services.

What Canvas does not collect

Canvas does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, or other contact information through the drawing app. Canvas does not use advertising trackers or sell personal information.

General audience

Canvas is a general-audience creative tool intended for teens and adults. It is not directed to children under 13.

Sharing and third-party services

If you choose to download or share something you create, your browser, operating system, or a service you choose to share through may handle that file under its own terms and privacy practices. Canvas does not control those third-party services.

Availability and warranty

Canvas is a free experimental tool provided “as is.” Features may change, break, or become unavailable, and no guarantee is made that the tool or locally stored data will always remain available. Download anything you want to keep.
